Terms of Use
These terms explain the agreement between you and BitzaHugs when you use our app, website, and features.

Welcome to BitzaHugs. By downloading, accessing, or using the BitzaHugs app or website (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who Can Use BitzaHugs
BitzaHugs is intended for parents and caregivers who are adults (18 or older, or the age of majority in your location). It is not designed for children to use without caregiver involvement. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
2. What BitzaHugs Is — and Is Not
BitzaHugs provides gentle tools for caregivers, including routines, calming tools, journaling, progress tracking, an AI support companion (Hugi), and a peer-support community.
BitzaHugs is not a medical, therapeutic, behavioral, crisis, legal, or emergency service. It does not diagnose conditions, provide treatment, or replace professional care. If you or your child are in immediate danger or need urgent help, call emergency services or contact a qualified professional.
3. Your Account
Some features may require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account information secure and for activity that occurs under your account. Please let us know promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
4. Community and User-Generated Content
BitzaHugs includes a moderated peer-support community where you can create posts, comments, and reactions (“User Content”). By posting, you agree to the following.
You are responsible for what you post. You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of sharing it. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share.
No objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post content that is harassing, hateful, threatening, bullying, graphic, sexual, dangerous, illegal, misleading, spam, or that violates the privacy of others. You agree not to share identifying information about yourself, your child, or others, including full names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, or school names.
There is no tolerance for abusive users or objectionable content. You agree to follow the Community Guidelines shown in the app before you join. We may remove content and suspend or remove users who violate these terms.
Moderation. Content is screened by an automated filter before posting. Every post and comment can be reported, and any user can be blocked. Content that receives multiple reports may be automatically hidden pending review. We aim to review reported content within 24 hours and may hide, remove, or permanently delete content, and suspend or terminate accounts, at our discretion.
License to display your content. You keep ownership of your User Content. By posting, you grant BitzaHugs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content within the Service for the purpose of operating the community. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except where the content has already been shared with others or must be retained for safety, legal, or moderation purposes.
Reporting to us. You can report content in the app, or contact us directly at hello@bitzahugs.com. We take reports seriously.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose;
- Attempt to disrupt, damage, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service;
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity;
- Collect or harvest information about other users;
- Use the Service to provide professional medical, legal, or therapeutic advice to others.
6. Hugi and AI Features
Hugi is an optional AI support companion powered by a third-party AI service (Anthropic’s Claude API). Hugi’s responses are generated automatically and may not always be accurate or appropriate. Hugi is not a substitute for professional care. Please avoid entering unnecessary sensitive or identifying information into Hugi. See our Privacy Policy for details on how AI features handle information.
7. Subscriptions and Purchases
BitzaHugs may offer premium features through in-app purchases or subscriptions, processed by Apple, Google Play, or another approved provider. Prices, billing, renewals, and cancellations are handled through your app store account and are subject to that store’s terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your app store settings.
8. Content Removal and Account Termination
We may hide, remove, or delete content, and suspend or terminate access to the Service, at our discretion — including for violations of these terms, for safety reasons, or to comply with the law. You may delete your own posts and comments at any time, and may request deletion of your account by contacting hello@bitzahugs.com.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that content in the community is accurate or reliable. Peer-support content reflects the views of individual users, not BitzaHugs.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BitzaHugs and its creators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on Hugi, community content, or any tool provided in the app.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use as BitzaHugs grows or changes. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
